NJSSA OFFICERS MEETING FEBRUARY 4, 2023 JBMDL RANGE 14 CLUBHOUSE

Attending officers: Ed Amaty, President, National Director, CJRP Club Rep. Greg Khalaf, Secretary, Florham Park Club Rep.

Club Reps, etc. present: James Garret Kevin Dawkins Ben Galioto Jay Taylor

Meeting called to order at 10:05 AM Minutes from last meeting were accepted Howard Mann gave the treasurer's report via conference call. He questioned if fees could be received through a Venmo transfer or credit card. The issue was tabled due to the costs involved.

Greg Khalaf was unanimously elected as NJSSA secretary.

Greg has 9 shoots scheduled at Florham Park. After a rocky 2022 we're confident that this year our shoots will go off without a hitch and be better than ever. The shoots are on the last Saturday of the month March through November. Ed will post the schedule on the njskeet.com website ASAP. There will be a 12 gauge memorial shoot to honor Bob Dolan on April 29. Lunch will be served.

Mason emailed in and said that Pinebelt BOD wants to hold skeet shoots. Mason is exploring possible dates for them but few dates are available due to a busy trap and five stand schedule that Pinebelt has.

Howard is going to approach Clove Springs about holding skeet shoots there. If they are interested we will have a delegation go there to discuss the feasibility, offer support and encouragement. We hope that soon Clove Springs will become a member club and hold NSSA shoots.

Boosters will not be sold for the state shoot program this year for various reasons. Ben reported that the program is 100% sold. Any questions regarding that should be directed to Ben.

James reported that the JBMDL range 14 may not be available by September due to the construction of new skeet houses and field layout. Military safety specialists are in the process of developing the final plan. It's more complicated than expected. There is no completion date but will be sometime this year.

Since the State shoot must be scheduled before the program goes to print in late March Ed is confident that the shoot can be held at Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club in Jackson, NJ September 8, 9, 10. Ed will confirm asap and try to get sponsorship funds for the shoot from NSSA.

Thanks were given to Ben for producing the program and it was noted that a lot of work goes into this task. Ben's dedication is tireless.

Youth shooters up to age 15 will be able to compete in the 2023 NJ State shoot for 50% of the regular entry fee and will therefore not be eligible for cash awards.

Meeting was adjourned at 11:45 AM

Next meeting is scheduled for 10 AM March 4 at JBMDL. All are encouraged to attend.
